Flawless - a boring heist flick

Short review: An aging janitor and a female manager team up to pull off a high steaks heist - a bit boring movie with a way too big portion of morale :-(

What is the Flawless movie about?

The plot: It’s the 1960’s. Mr. Hobbs and Laura Quinn have little in common. He is a cleaner with just a few years to go before being pensioned, she is an ambitious manager, both working for a jewel big player. As she gets frustrated about being passed over for promotion once again, the prospect of taking advantage of their insider knowledge becomes an option. The two unlikely allies become partners and the hunt for the big price is on…

Flickcritique says: The movie is too long, too much about morale and it seriously lacks of a good story. I like both the main actors but this is just not interesting. For me, it was a waste of time :-( The cartoon sumerizes the entire flick.

Watch it if you liked: I love heist movies and I’ve seen plenty of them. Entrapment (1999), Ocean’s Eleven (2001), Heist (2001) - you name it! They are all great! Flawless might be the same genre but the movie is too slow and the screen play lacks good action :-(

The Dark Knight - read the critic now

In a nutshell: Joker is back for another round again the Dark Knight aka the Batman. This time the battle is just about Gotham’s souls – a bit long but good :-)

The story: Joker is back in Gotham city, regrouping his paladins to strike back. This time he is up not only against Bruce Wayne, Batman’s high society alter ego but also the Head of the Gotham Police Department Commissioner Gordon and the city’s newest hero district attorney Harvey Dent. As the battle heats up as both sides figure out things are different then they seem to be…

Flickcritique says: The movie is good but way too long. Heath Ledger aka The Joker is amazing. No doubt it is the role of his life. I am truly sad, he is not going to act again :-( The rest, Christian Bale aka Batman, Maggie Gyllenhaal aka Rachel Dawes (Batman’s ex), Aaron Eckhart aka Harvey Dent (Gotham’s district attorney) they are all okay but never even close to what Ledger managed to achieve. The beginning is too long and I felt like this movie has been stretched purely for the purpose of making it longer but every time I saw Joker’s mimics I was kinda okay with it ;-)

Conclusion: Watch it, it’s good :-)

Best movie quote [by Joker]: “Why so serious?”

Watch it if you liked: Batman Begins (2005), Spider Man 3 (2007), The Incredible Hulk (2008), basically any super hero movie
