Kung Fu Panda - a lovable animated movie

In a nutshell: A noodle selling Panda makes his way to a Kung Fu master – a nice cartoon from DreamWorks :-)

The plot: Po, an over weighed Panda works in his dad’s noodle restaurant but as much as he likes to eat his true passion is Kung Fu. He gets the chance to make his dream of being a Kung Fu master reality, as he accidentally becomes the Dragon Warrior, a chosen one to protect the innocent in dark times. Even though his coach isn’t excited about the new student in the beginning, eventually he learns to appreciate Po. And eventually they both realize that there is no such a thing as an accident…

Flickcritique says: A lovable cartoon about the power of the mind created by DreamWorks. It lacks the finesse most Pixar productions have but it is a nice movie to watch on a rainy Saturday afternoon :-)

Flickcritique says: If you are into animated movies, see this cartoon :-)

You might like Kung Fu Panda, if you liked previous DreamWorks releases like for example Madagascar (2005), Over the Hedge (2006), and Flushed Away (2006)or Bee Movie (2007).

Futurama: The Beast with a Billion Backs

In a nutshell: Heaven/parallel universe falls in love with humanity. After some initial concerns about a long-term commitment the love birds star dating… I love Matt Groening’s works but this one is really below expectations - sorry Matt :-(

The story: Fry is fed up with his nymphomaniac girlfriend, so he makes friends with an anomaly, that turns out to be a lonely universe. A promising relationship starts…

Flickcritique says: :-( I consider myself Matt Groening’s biggest fan… The Simpsons TV show, The Simpsons Movie, Futurama the show… even the Futurama: Bender’s Big Score movie aka The Futurama Movie was kinda okay but Futurama: The Beast with a Billion Backs is sort of boring. Not mean enough :-( Not ridiculous :-( Not creative enough :-( Disappointing I have to admit, even for heartbroken, hardcore Matt Groening fans like me. Matt, please do it better in future, will you? :-(

Conclusion: I can not recommend Futurama: The Beast with a Billion Backs :-(

Watch it if you liked: well, if you are a Matt Groening fanatic, desparately looking for Matt being happy, you might give it a chance but do not expect too much… you have been warned!
