Short, independant flick reviews! Read about it, before you watch it!

It’s a Free World - a very up-to-date drama

In a nutshell: Angie, a bit slutty cos lonely, single mother working for a job service has to adjust her morality standards to the free world economy - a sad but very up-to-date drama :-( Worth watching!

The story: Angie (Kierston Wareing) gets sacked from recruitment agency, another job she did not like much. Fed up with constantly being on the lower end of the food chain she teams up with her flat mate Rose, to start their own recruitment business for non-nationals in the rapidly growing UK market. As their start-up takes off, the partners learn the hard rules of the industry and to know each other better then they possibly wished to.

Flickcritique says: In case you are wondering about the wicked movie ticket, I watched “It’s a Free World” (Polish title “Polak potrzebny od zaraz”) in the City of Krakow, Poland :-) It’s a sad but very real drama, showing the fate of the ones who try hard for their luck but who rarely succeed in finding a better life. The Polish title roughly says “Polish guy needed immediately”, so assumed the movie was more focused on the immigrants’ fate. In fact, it’s all about Angie and her family issues. The picture shown is dark and hopeless. The message the movie sends is adopt, stop caring about other people, lower your standards or else… I am sort of familiar with the fate of people who abandon their home place to find a better life, so I guess I can judge the flick fairly well. And I think it is very realistic, sad but very truth. I liked the movie, not necessarily the characters :-(

Conclusion: If you wanna watch a movie that is gonna make you think, go for “It’s a Free World” or “Polak potrzebny od zaraz”, if you are in Poland.

Watch it if you liked: I have no clue. Honestly, I can not think of any other movie that would be similar.
