Short, independant flick reviews! Read about it, before you watch it!

WALL·E - checkout the review!

In a nutshell: A lonely robot on planet Earth develops a personality and finds out what it mans to be lonely and miserable. Nice cartoon with a simple plot, not as good as Finding Nemo though – good enough popcorn movie :-)

The story: Wall-E [abbreviation for Waste Allocation Load Lifter Earth-Class] seems to be the last functional unit cleaning up Earth step by step. Over years however, he develops a personality and being alone gets into him. One day Eva [Extraterrestrial Vegetation Evaluator ], an advanced drone arrives to check on the planets condition. The affection is immediate, though as the visit is not for long, Wall-E has to make some effort to get his Apple-style dream girl.

Flickcritique says: A lovable cartoon created by the people who delighted us with “Finding Nemo” and “Monster Inc.”. However, this one is just good, not fantastic. The animations are as good as we could expect it from Pixar/Disney but the story is kinda poor. In fact, there is not much of a plot at all. Which does not make the movie much worse, just bit less good ;-) It’s a good choice if you’re looking for a lazy Saturday evening movie to watch with your girlfriend. Although mine did not like it that much but that is a different story ;-)

Conclusion: A typical Pixar cartoon, so you know what to expect :-)

Watch it if you liked: Toy Story (1995), Ice Age (2002), Monsters, Inc. (2001), Finding Nemo (2003), you name it! Pixar is just good making these movies.

Kung Fu Panda - a lovable animated movie

In a nutshell: A noodle selling Panda makes his way to a Kung Fu master – a nice cartoon from DreamWorks :-)

The plot: Po, an over weighed Panda works in his dad’s noodle restaurant but as much as he likes to eat his true passion is Kung Fu. He gets the chance to make his dream of being a Kung Fu master reality, as he accidentally becomes the Dragon Warrior, a chosen one to protect the innocent in dark times. Even though his coach isn’t excited about the new student in the beginning, eventually he learns to appreciate Po. And eventually they both realize that there is no such a thing as an accident…

Flickcritique says: A lovable cartoon about the power of the mind created by DreamWorks. It lacks the finesse most Pixar productions have but it is a nice movie to watch on a rainy Saturday afternoon :-)

Flickcritique says: If you are into animated movies, see this cartoon :-)

You might like Kung Fu Panda, if you liked previous DreamWorks releases like for example Madagascar (2005), Over the Hedge (2006), and Flushed Away (2006)or Bee Movie (2007).
