Short, independant flick reviews! Read about it, before you watch it!

‘Shoot’em up’ – read review before watching

In a nutshell: Carrot-addict and cynical about life killer on a run with a preemie and a busty hooker.

The Story: Smith also known as Arthur in ‘King Arthur’ (2004) or Theo Faron in ‘Children of Men’ (2006) helps a highly pregnant women, who is being chased by killers. Shortly after giving birth to a boy, she gets killed in a gun fight, leaving Clive with her baby. He is obviously little amused about the situation, though the more the bad guys try to kill the baby, too, the more Smith gets attached to it. Looking for a feeder Smith crosses the ways of the prostitute Donna (Monica Bellucci), aka Persephone in ‘The Matrix Revolutions’ (2003). Little surprisingly, the bad guys are trailing Smith all the time, trying to get their unfinished job done.

Movie critique: Jackie Chang-style stunts performed by aging Clive look just ridiculous :-( Monica Bellucci performs as she always does by exposing her curves and contributing little to conversations. Only Paul Giamatti shines with acting that is either not authentic or awkward. He is quiet good actually, personalizing the obscene and sadistic professional criminal Hertz. Nothing in the movie is surprising or even entertaining. It is a boring flick and you might seriously consider going on for walk as a good alternative to watching it.

Conclusion: Boooooooooring, predictable, ridiculousdon’t watch unless you have some time to wast. Just don’t.

Worst in movie scene: In fact, most of the stunts are just bad, bad, bad. One scene made me laugh, because it was so bloody stupid: The main characters are having sex, while a SWAT-type team is about to raid the apartment. As the flash bombs go off, they do not stop. Big man Smith shoots all the masked special forces guys like clay pigeons while Monica is obviously cumming. No further comment needed.

Watch it if you liked: Hmmmm… seriously, it’s crap. I can’t recall any movie that was even close to this bad :-(
